Body pillow sizes explained: what 100cm actually feels like

Buying a body pillow online is a bit of a guessing game. The listing says "100cm" and you nod like that means something, then it turns up and it's either the size of a toddler or barely bigger than a normal pillow. So here's what 100cm actually feels like in real life, and how to know if it's the right size for you.

Why size is the whole point of a body pillow

A regular pillow is for your head. A body pillow is for the rest of you: the arm you never know what to do with, the top leg that slides around, the general need to hold onto something. That only works if it's long enough to actually wrap around. Too short and you're back to hugging a cushion. Too long and it hangs off the bed. Length is the thing that makes or breaks it.

So how long is 100cm, really?

Picture the distance from your shoulder to just below your knee. That's roughly 100cm on most adults. Held upright against you, a 100cm bolster reaches from about your chin down past your hips. Lying down and hugging it, it runs the full length of your torso, long enough to get both an arm and a leg around, which is exactly the point.

It's long, but not silly-long. It won't take over the whole bed or shove your partner onto the floor. It's the sweet spot between "too small to bother" and "why is there a third person in the bed."

What about the width?

Length gets all the attention, but width matters just as much. The Gooling is 20cm across: slim enough to tuck comfortably between your knees or against your side, thick enough to actually feel like something. A lot of cheap body pillows are either pancake-flat or weirdly chunky like a tree trunk. Slim and full is the combination you want.

Is 100cm right for you?

Honestly, for most people, yes. It suits most bed sizes from a king single up, works whether you're tall or petite (you just hug more or less of it), and it's easy to move from the bed to the couch. One size, made to suit most bodies.
