HugGooling vs a Regular Pillow: What's Actually Different
Share
Short answer: almost everything except the word "pillow." Here's what actually separates a HugGooling from the standard pillow already on your bed, no exaggeration required.
Size: this isn't a pillow, it's furniture
A standard pillow runs somewhere around 50 by 70 centimetres and stays under your head. A HugGooling is 100 centimetres long and about 20 centimetres in diameter, built to run the length of your torso, not just sit under your neck. It's less "pillow" and more "a soft object with its own gravitational pull."
Shape: built to be hugged, not leaned on
A regular pillow is flat and rectangular because its one job is sitting under your head. A gooling is a long cylindrical bolster, which changes what you actually do with it. You don't rest your head on it so much as wrap your arms and legs around it. Different shape, different habit entirely.
What's inside and what's on the outside
Most pillows use memory foam, feather, or basic polyester fill, wrapped in plain cotton. A HugGooling is filled with siliconised polyester fibre, chosen for how soft and full it feels, and wrapped in a removable, washable, short plush fur cover with a hidden zip. You can take the cover off and throw it in the wash, which is not something you can say about most pillows.
| Regular pillow | HugGooling | |
|---|---|---|
| Size | ~50 x 70cm | 100cm long, 20cm diameter |
| Shape | Flat, rectangular | Long cylindrical bolster |
| Fill | Foam, feather, or basic fibre | Siliconised polyester fibre |
| Cover | Usually fixed cotton case | Removable, washable, short plush fur, hidden zip |
| What you do with it | Rest your head on it | Wrap your arms and legs around it |
It's not replacing your pillow. It's the thing you didn't know your bed, or your couch, was missing.
